We are so excited to see Paul home again. As soon as he came down the Airport escalator the boys both pounced on him.
The last week of his tour was great. He spent the first part at Eglin AFB in Florida then headed to Robbins AFB in Georgia. His flight was awarded the best flight out of the 4 on this tour, but most exciting of all for us was that Paul was voted 'Unrivaled Wing-man' by his peers. And he didn't even vote for himself. : ) Paul was very honored and shocked, and of course, we are so proud.
Paul was encouraged several times on this tour to go active duty as soon as possible, but unfortunately under the UMC he's not eligible to be ordained until he serves 3 years as a pastor on a probationary status. So we are still working towards that goal, plugging away one year at a time. It's hard to believe that it will have taken him at least 12 years of school and training before he can finally reach this goal!
