Hot Air Balloon Festival

Louisville hosts a Hot Air Balloon Festival every year & I was so happy we caught it this year. We headed up Friday Night for the Balloon Glow which was absolutely beautiful. If you're in the area you should check out this festival. All you pay for is your parking and food, everything else is free. They have lots of bouncy houses set up, kids games, a health fair with all kinds of activities, live music, fireworks, free breakfast on Saturday morning and of course food vendors & a craft fair. Lot's of fun!

Here's Joel climbing the rock wall. We really felt bad for Caleb, he wanted to do this so bad but they wouldn't let him with his broken arm (imagine that). They almost didn't let him in the bouncy houses either - So glad they did or the festival would have been a total bust for him.

Inside a hot air balloon. This was pretty cool. They had a balloon on it's side with a big fan blowing air in it. We got to walk around inside the balloon and the boys loved to hide in the folds of the panels.

Early Saturday Morning we headed out to the airfield to catch the race. All the balloons came in over the horizon & flew right over our heads, I kept trying to count how many but there were too many to tell. At least 40, but I think there were probably more than that.

There were balloons in all shapes & colors. We would see one & say that's our favorite then an even better one would fly over our heads. But, we all especially loved the specialty balloons like this rocket, there was also a bear, a cow, and a birthday cake.
